We put you first. So rest assured that your information is always treated and guarded with care and respect. It's as simple as that.

1. Expectations of Privacy

All financial institutions recognize that the basis of each customer relationship is trust. We at Roxboro Savings Bank also recognize that you have chosen to do business with us and we are obligated to honor this relationship with great care. You have entrusted us to protect your privacy and safeguard your personal financial information. We respect the privacy of our customers and are committed to treating customer information responsibly.

2. Categories of nonpublic personal information collected

  • Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
  • Information about your transactions with us, or others
  • Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.

3. Why we Collect, Retain, and Use Customer Information

We collect, retain, and use information about you only where we reasonably believe that it will help administer our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities to you. We collect and retain information about you only for specific business purposes (i.e. loan application evaluation) - and we will tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your request. Some of the reasons we use your information include the following: to protect and administer your records, accounts, and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design and improve our products and services; and to better understand your financial needs. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.

4. Maintenance of Accurate Information

Maintaining the accuracy of your personal information is important. We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information about you and your accounts. Should you ever believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will investigate your concerns and correct any inaccuracies.

5. Limitations on Employee Access to Information

Employee access to customer information is authorized for business purposes only. Each Roxboro Savings Bank employee is required to follow our Bank's "Code of Conduct", which states that all customer information is considered private and privileged and is to be used solely for the purpose of providing you with the finest service available. Employees are educated on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and those who violate this requirement may be subject to disciplinary measures.

6. Security Procedures Protect Your Information

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with Federal standards to guard your nonpublic information.

7. Restrictions on the Disclosure of Account Information

We do not reveal specific information about customer accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties outside our organization unless it is under circumstances, such as:

  1. the information is provided to help complete transaction initiated by the customer
  2. the customer requests or authorizes it
  3. the disclosure is required by/or allowed by law (i.e. investigation of fraudulent activity, subpoena, requested by regulator, etc.)
  4. or the information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency.

8. Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties

When Roxboro Savings Bank conducts business with third party vendors and suppliers, we require that they also maintain similar standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.

9. Privacy Regarding Online Transactions

We appreciate that both customers and those just visiting our web site have special concerns about the privacy of their nonpublic personal information on the Internet. We want you to know the steps that we have taken to provide for the safety and security of your information when communicating with us on the internet.

Protecting Online Applications
When you enroll in Internet Banking from our web site, your personal information is sent to us by secure socket layer (SSL) technology. This information is only accessible to authorized bank representatives. Our responses back to you will not be secure, however, and we will not send any confidential account information to you by e-mail.

Protecting Your Internet Banking
We use state of the art technology and a multi-layered approach to security to ensure that your information and transactions are kept private and secure when you use Internet Banking. Internet Banking includes use of online banking, bill payment, and our Internet portal. To support this technology, access to Internet Banking can only be done from an Internet browser that supports 128-bit encryption or higher, is Javascript enabled, and has the ability to accept cookies and third party cookies. "Cookies" are messages given to a Web browser by a Web server. The browser stores the message in a text file called cookie.txt. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. You can only access your accounts by providing your secure User ID and password. For additional protection, all your Internet Banking sessions automatically log off after several minutes of inactivity.

You can help keep your nonpublic personal information secure by not sharing your User ID and password with anyone and by remembering to log out from Internet Banking when you have completed your session.

Secure E-Mail Transactions
E-mails you send from the Secure Mail section of Internet Banking are secure; emails you send through the contactus@roxborosavings.com links are not secure and do not use encryption.

10. Responding to Customer Inquiries

We want you to understand how we use the information you provide and our commitment to ensuring your personal privacy. If you have any questions about how Roxboro Savings Bank protects your confidential information, please call us at 336-599-2137. Roxboro Savings Bank values the relationship with you, our customer, and we want to continue to earn your trust as we strive to make the safekeeping of your information a top priority.

11. Additional Information Regarding FACTA

We may report information about your account to credit bureaus. Late payments, missed payments, or other defaults on your account may be reflected in your credit report.
